Mould Investigation & Remediation

Mould investigation finds the moisture feeding black mould in UK houses and flats, then cleans and treats the growth. It is for bathrooms, cold corners and walls behind furniture. Bleach on the surface is not the repair if the wall stays wet. Request a quote with the form or WhatsApp.

Black mould follows damp air or a wet wall. Bleach on the surface does not stop it if the moisture stays.

Symptoms

What people notice first

Black or dark green growth on silicone, grout, ceilings and external corners

A musty smell when the room has been shut

Growth behind furniture and in built-in cupboards on outside walls

Mould that returns within weeks of being wiped

What's included

  • Source of moisture identified first
  • Affected finishes assessed
  • Anti-fungal treatment of the growth
  • Advice to stop the same pattern returning
  • A clear note of health-related limits of the visit

What this visit does not do

  • We are not a medical service and we do not interpret symptoms
  • We do not fog a room and leave a leak or a cold unventilated wall
  • Furnishings and a full strip-out are included only when that finish has failed
Method

How the visit runs

The moisture source is identified first: condensation, rain, or a leak. Failed plaster or silicone is taken off where the growth is in the material. The surface is treated, then the damp path is the actual repair, whether that is extract, a gutter, or a drying job.

1

Investigate first

We map the stain, take moisture readings, check salts where plaster has blown, and look outside at ground levels, gutters, pointing and the damp proof course line. The damp type is written down before any treatment.

2

Treat the path that is wet

Rising damp, rainwater, condensation, a bridged cavity or a wet cellar each get the repair that closes that path. A damp proof course is used only where groundwater is the cause.

3

Leave a record and a drying time

You get a treatment record and the guarantee that applies to the system installed. Plaster and paint wait until the readings say the wall is ready. Decorating a wet wall brings the mark back.

4
What changes the price

Price follows the area of growth, whether plaster or furnishings are involved, and the damp defect underneath it.

5
After the visit

Vent the wet rooms, pull furniture slightly off cold walls, and do not rely on bleach as the only step. Bleach on paint does not dry the brick.

6
What fails if this is skipped

If the surface stays cold and damp, mould is back in the same heating season. If the source is stopped and the room is ventilated, the same corner stays clear.

A wipe is reasonable for a light bathroom speckle once the extract works. It is the wrong job when the plaster is soft or the patch is a rain stain.

FAQ

Questions

These are the questions for this job. Wider damp questions sit on the FAQ page.

All FAQs

Mould is the growth. Damp is the moisture that feeds it. Cleaning the growth and leaving the moisture is why it returns.

On a sound painted surface, as a clean, after the room is ventilated. Not as a treatment for wet plaster, and not instead of finding the leak or the missing fan.

We assess soft furnishings when they are part of the affected area. Heavily contaminated items may need to go. We do not pretend a spray saves a soaked mattress.

It comes back if the wall is still wet or the air is still trapped. The quote includes the step that stops that, not only the clean.
